Five Things To Do in Napa This Month

Fear No Easel

Wine and art come hand in hand, but wine and art you create yourself? Even better! The Napa General Store has just launched its new program, Fear No Easel: A Napa Valley Paint and Sip Program. Participants will learn how to paint a classic Napa Valley scene, while sipping on some of the best wines from Napa.

Reservations are required and a fee of $85 gets you a 12×16 canvas, two and a half hours of painting instruction from Napa Valley Artist, Gail Chandler, all painting supplies and a custom wine tasting to enliven your creative juices.

Shakespeare Napa Valley

Back by popular demand, Shakespeare Napa Valley is set to return to Downtown Napa this month. This summer’s production, The Comedy of Errors, is about two sets of twins unaware the other exists; heavy mix-ups and witty dialogue tell the story.

Performed by students from Napa Valley College, The Comedy of Errors, will take place August 15 – 18 at 7 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park in the heart of downtown. Admission is free.

Main Street Reunion

Every August the streets of Downtown Napa are invaded with over 400 beautifully restored pre-1976 cars for one of Napa Valley’s best events, Main Street Reunion. This year, the event is bigger and better than ever as it has been extended for a second day!

Friday, August 16 features the event’s newest addition, Show N’ Shine,  from 5 to 9 p.m. Come to the south parking lot of 500 First Street, next to Oxbow Public Market) for live music, food, beer and a gorgeous fleet of cars. The event continues on Saturday, August 17 and awards will be given in thirty categories including Best of Show and the Publishers Award.

This is an event that’s truly not to be missed.

Blues, Brews & BBQ

Downtown Napa’s ultimate BBQ and Brew fest is back! Featuring all elements one would expect – two musical stages, 30 micro-brewed beers and TONS of BBQ – Blues, Brews & BBQ is a favorite among Napa locals and visitors alike. Be sure and taste your way down First and Main streets as you enjoy live music and the famous Bounty Hunter Rib Eatin’ contest, where ten contestants eat as many ribs as physically possible in ten minutes. It’s a sight to be seen!

DoNapa Culinary Crawl

Sip and savor your way through Napa with the DoNapa Culinary Crawl, a walking food and wine tour featuring some of Downtown Napa’s best culinary and wine tasting destinations. Bring friends and family to enjoy drink specials and small bites at a variety of locations all in one night. And be sure to grab a raffle ticket when you check in – prizes are awarded at each stop of the night.

The next Culinary Crawl will take place on Thursday, August 29 at 5:00. Meet the group at Napa Valley Bistro to start your culinary adventure through downtown. Other stops include the new Mercantile Terrace at the Andaz hotel, followed by an intimate experience at downtown’s newest late night spot, Empire Napa.
