Napa: The Happiest City in the U.S.

You’ve probably heard the news that Napa is the Happiest City in the U.S. via Twitter and we couldn’t be . . . happier! If you’ve never experienced Napa or are looking to visit again, you’ll soon see what all the tweets are about.

What makes Napa so great? To start, there are over 10 million tweets saying that Napa is the happiest city in the U.S., 70 restaurants all within walking distance, over 17 art galleries, 41 picturesque lodging properties, and 13,500 wine glasses washed and polished per year in the average wine tasting room. In addition to these fantastic numbers, Downtown Napa is also home to three major entertainment venues: SILO’S, Napa Valley Opera House and Uptown Theatre.

SILO’S, is Napa’s premiere music room located in the heart of Downtown Napa at the Historic Napa Mill, adjacent to the Napa River Inn, making it easy for you see a show and retire to your nearby room. Bar Manager Keith Stansberry features fine wines carefully selected from the best of Napa Valley wineries along with local micro-brewery draft beer from Napa Smith Brewery.

If you want to see a more eclectic selection of music and entertainers, Napa Valley Opera House is your venue! Patrons experience an eclectic array of performing arts including theatre, dance, comedy, jazz, blues, world music and family programming in an historic national landmark originally constructed in 1879. While you’re at it, hop on over to Uptown Theatre Napa to grab some drinks and appetizers.

Uptown Theatre is a stunningly restored art deco masterpiece showcasing only the finest acts, featuring music, comedy and more. The Uptown has played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Boz Scaggs, Merle Haggard, Cyndi Lauper, BB King, Lewis Black, George Thorogood, Lyle Lovett, Ron White and many more. If you’re looking for some eats within walking distance of the Uptown, take a stroll over to the Napa General Store, Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin’ BBQ or Carpe Diem Wine Bar.
