Arts In April is Back For Its Sixth Annual Art Showcase

Napa Valley’s annual art and artisan showcase returns this year to celebrate the works of locally and nationally renowned artists, featuring pieces that span artistic disciplines, genres and decades. Arts in April provides visitors and locals the opportunity to enjoy an artistic feast of special shows, installations and exhibits throughout the entire month of April.

Napa Arts in April Events:

Napa ARTwalk is a year-round art exhibit designed to showcase the walkability of Downtown Napa and promote the enjoyment of public art. Visitors can experience the installations of regional artists placed throughout the City of Napa. In its fourth exhibition since the program began in 2009, the Napa ARTwalk features 14 artists from six Western states.

di Rosa will host, Paul Kos: rEVOLUTION April 16-July 10, 2016 showcasing a number of works from Paul Kos–a leading figure of the Bay Area Conceptual Art movement. The exhibition will feature film, photography, installation, video and sculptural elements produced at di Rosa between 1968 and 2000, as well as more recent works. The exhibition reflects on Kos’ lifelong interest in the natural Western landscape and some of the works have not been on display in 40 years.

Napa Valley Wine Train will host live music with local artists from April 1-30, 2016 at the Wine Train Station every Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Small bites will be available along with wine tastings for purchase, as well as wines by the bottle in the Wine Train’s Wine Store with corkage waived for the event.

Hagafen Cellars will be showcasing local artists Weir and Mendelson April 1-30, 2016. The Silverado Trail winery is marked with large iron grape clusters of local artist, Richard Mendelson, at the entry, as well as diverse found-object artworks peppering the garden. The mosaics of Irit Weir, also create garden moments compelling visitors to stop and admire. In addition, Weir’s oil paintings adorn the walls of the tasting room and winery.

Napa County Main Library will host a viewing of the acrylic and oil works of The Bay Area Studio Artists (BASA). Their pieces will be on display throughout the month of April with an artist reception on April 8.

The Wine Foundry will host Abstract Topophilia by Ben Joyce on April 9. Abstract Topophilia is a way for people to connect with and experience a personal odyssey through the birds-eye vantage point of each piece of art. Meet the artist and travel through the exhibit.

Nancy Willis Studio will offer a unique experience with studio owner and printmaker, Nancy Willis and guest artist, Panevino maestro David Katz on April 9. Guests will enjoy Katz’s famous charcuterie and artisan breadsticks while being guided through the monotype process in a fun and spontaneous way.

Creative-a-Tea’s Artisan Fair on April 16 will showcase booths of handmade arts and crafts from local artisans. Experience creativity at its best and meet the talented artisans of Creative-a-Tea, where crafts, tea and community blend together. Join for a day of shopping, refreshments, workshops and fun.

Kitchens in the Vineyards will be hosting a Home and Garden Tour on April 30 allowing visitors to peek into five premiere homes in Napa Valley, each styled by notable designers and florists. With a focus on entertaining, statement kitchens, stunning art and outdoor lifestyles, this year’s self-guided tour will delight patrons with an inspiring mix of both sleek and rustic elements. Meet local chefs and authors, and spend a spring day exploring wine country living.
